Yup. He's always been an asshole who loves to be contrarian just for the hell of it. But even if being a devil's advocate to get a rise out of people is just his shtick, the viewpoints that he expresses while doing so are still despicable. And he knows it. And he takes pride in being despicable.

I agree that the police should get involved if there's a rapist out there who's getting away with his/her crime. But people often underestimate or ignore the fact that going to the police and being involved in the subsequent investigation (assuming that their claims aren't dismissed outright) can be a pretty traumatic…
