When I was her age, Rebecca Schaefer, was killed by a stalker. I’d watched every episode of My Sister Sam and sometimes she’d show up in YM or seventeen in a really cool hat or something, so I followed her closer than I realized. It was a heartbreaking intro to the violence of the real world.
