I love skinnytaste, the turkey pumpkin chili I made is from that website. And good call on the breakfasts. It sounds much more satisfying than the bowls of hippie cereal I was planning on.

Dude, I had no idea that two people could have such vastly different ideas of what “large amounts of blood” means. I think standing up and having blood gush down your legs is a copious amount, the midwife on duty was all “Oh, no, that’s not much.” I feel like the mucus plug loss is something I want to tell everyone I

I was kind of irritated when the midwife on duty was just like “Yeah mucus happens all the time.” I didn't think it was supposed to at 28 weeks? This is my first pregnancy, don't assume everyone knows. They didn't cover this in What To Expect!

That's smart, I was thinking of making handheld burritos for nursing but calzones sound like an awesome alternative as well.

You’re welcome. I grew up surrounded by nurses, the human body was a regular topic of dinner conversation so it's completely normal to me.

Well, quaaludes were, if not legal, readily available.

We live with my mom and expecting our first baby. Just make time for you. If you like going to the movies, make time to go. If you like getting your nails done, make sure that you go just to relax. And don’t sweat the small stuff, you’ll have to learn to let shit go. That's been the hardest thing for me.

Any good freezer recipes? I lost my mucus plug earlier this week, resulting in a fun run to Labor and Delivery. Apparently they grow back but now I’m insanely paranoid that the baby is going to come early so I’ve started making sure everything is ready, including some freezer meals. Bonus points, if it’s healthy. So

I feel like wow is the only appropriate response to this story. Wow, what an asshole.

The only person who thought Dorinda and John weren’t on something illicit is Helen Keller. And that’s not because she was blind and deaf but because she’s dead and so was spared the Real Housewives franchise. People who still have a pulse and are both blind and deaf can see that Dorinda and John were totally on

Yeah, it's been years since I read the article but I think they had two separate groups they were studying; children who witnessed abuse and DV victims who were primarily emotionally abused.

I read an article several years ago about the physical changes that happen to a victim’s brain after years of abuse. Beyond the physical violence, the state of living in fear and terror can make permanent changes to your brain.

Whatever, you and I are clearly not going to agree. I think people should come before profits and if corporations want to be treated as people, they need to demonstrate some basic human traits, like compassion. Clearly, you've never made a mistake before in your life and for that, I applaud you.

A) the other families still have to pay this judgement, at least have some compassion for them. B) she lost her child, her unborn child and probably has at least some sort of PTSD. Maybe cut her some slack?

I seriously hope you never are grieving and have someone knock on your door and ask you “Aren’t you angry? Aren’t you mad that your loved one is dead? Aren’t you worried about how you’re going to support your family? You should blame x and y and z.” Ambulance chasing lawyers prey on vulnerable people.

Jesus, I hope you never make a mistake while grieving.

The statement from his nephew brought me to tears. The love he had for his uncle, who was clearly more like a father to him, radiated off the page.

If anything, that makes it worse. Can't use the infant amnesia excuse.

If you believed his mother, he was going to be the first Jewish president of the United States. Guess not.

I don’t think so. His father passed away when he was much younger and his mother is a retired NYC public high school teacher. My guess is he’s been living off Huma for a good long time.
