Yeah but The Heiress! That last scene showed why Olivia de Haviland was the HBIC.

I realized this week that their dog is named Leo. So they gave their dog a normal, human name and named their kids wacky names that you'd expect to give a pet.
I’m sure sex “behind bars” for the Giudices is probably the same as sex at home. Juicy Joe doesn’t seem like he cares much about a woman’s pleasure.
Well, there’s a sure fire way to lose weight.
Yeah but the more people who call Yolanda out on her bullshit, the better.
The whole process is bizarre and political. I'm pretty certain you need to pay for the star (some ridiculous amount of money) which is why most star ceremonies happen when someone is coming out with a new movie or album, their studio or label pays for it and then charges it under promotion.
Yes! This! I get wanting to keep your independence but at some point, you have to realize that your loved ones are (probably) not nurses. We’re not equipped to watch them every second to stop them from burning the house down, wiping their bums and making sure they’re bathing properly.
My cat literally jumped on my husband’s back while we were mid coitus. This was also the night our daughter was conceived. I don't think it's a coincidence.
Also ask about SSRIs. The confusion can be overwhelming for them and create a lot of anxiety. Traditional anxiety meds don't work with dementia patients (something having to do with the plaque build up in the brain) but SSRIs have been proven to help in a lot of people. If you need some support, feel free to reach…
No, I haven’t heard of that one, thanks for sharing. I talked to my mom’s Alzheimer's doctor about maybe going a study at the hospital where she's treated (it's the #1 or #2 hospital for dementia in the country.) I'm not positive I want to know if I have the gene and my husband thinks it's a bad idea but I'm still…
I’m really curious about how it runs in families. My grandfather also had younger onset Alzheimer’s but my mom’s seems to be progressing much faster. But they both also had high blood pressure, depression and were both smokers so I'm wondering how much of it was lifestyle and how much was genetics.
Yes! And then no response! Ever since she started dating Tom Cruise, I’ve thought of Katie Holmes as cold and slightly uppity. Leah’s book kind of confirmed my suspicions.
The Alzheimer's Association and I are BFFs. They're good people. Weird question, did anyone else in your family have Alzheimer's or was it a one off with your aunt?
She’s on Aricept and Lexapro now but the Aricept doesn't seem to have done much. Her doctor put her on them one at a time to see what worked and I noticed an immediate change with the Lexapro. Getting her to go to the doctor was the hardest part. I don't think she realizes that the doctor she sees regularly is a…
Get her on the meds now. They don't make a difference after a certain point but they can really make difference early on. Especially the Namenda XR, I think the slow release helps a lot.
I think caregiver guilt is the worst part. The sufferer doesn't really understand and gets to live in lala land (although an anxiety ridden lala land). The caregiver gets to understand and deal with the fall out.
Thanks, it really blows. The worst part is that she can't be happy. Like physically, her brain is just so stressed all the time that happiness is really kind of a foreign concept now. That's the saddest part to me.
There was a long NY Times article about a professor who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s and she ordered pills online and committed suicide. I literally have the article and the details saved in my email because that is exactly what I’ll do. It’s a pretty easy decision when you spent nearly an hour on Sunday…
The medications that are actually for Alzheimer’s are useless but there’s different meds to help the symptoms. For instance, normal anxiety drugs don’t work for dementia patients and a lot of the symptoms, like the repetition, pacing and aggression, come from anxiety. A doctor prescribed an SSRI for my mother and it’s…
It's also affected by lifestyle, depression and brain injury. I was in a support group and 4 of us had parents whose decline was accelerated by car accidents. Their judgement is impaired and if they have a car accident, even whiplash can seriously accelerate dementia.
