The XB-35 and the YB-49 had problems with poor stall handeling and low yaw stability so that was probably the major factor. I’m glad Salinas got an MRAP because the gang problem has always been bad for such a small town.
The FJ felt as stable as a surf board, if the wave was longer I might have even been able to carve a bit. You just don’t want to lay it down, otherwise that is a new spar.
I’ve done it on an FJ back in high school. I always wanted to try it on a Laser but it is a lot safer to do it with a center board rather than a dagger board.
This should be the basis of the FIA WRC Masters, the retired champions coming out and doing two or three legs as a support series!
