It was foreseeable because she alleged herself that the abuse had already been going on for three years before she signed the contract. Unfortunately, there’s nothing wrong with the decision. The judge’s denial of leave to amend Kesha’s counterclaims was mandated by settled New York law.

So the article doesn’t quote the full passage from the decision. This made me go ??? so I looked it up. First paragraph of page 8. She apparently testified that the abuse had started in 2005, and then signed the agreement in 2008. So legally, yes, foreseeable.

Never watched it but this definitively proves she is an asshole. Having waited tables in college and dealing with a smattering of crap like this I can think of no scenario where she’s not a miserable person. She’s the type of person who gets visited by the ghost of Christmas future.

Nope. Nuh uh. Not happening. I am not rewarding bad service on the part of the server. If they do a good job in spite of everyone around them fucking up and ruining my experience, I won’t take it out of their tip, but 15% is reserved for a minimum of average service without added bullshit on the server’s part. I don’t

She may be good at hosting a TV program, but delightful people do not act like this. It is time to reassess.

I disagree. I tip 15% on “basic service”. If it’s bad, as in, detracts from my overall experience then I’m not tipping. For things that aren’t really the server’s fault (meal quality, time, etc) I don’t reduce my tip.

The Art of the Deely

Charles and Diana’s pairing came about for much the same reason people have disaster sex - the need for human closeness and comfort during a tough time.

I exclusively use spotify and NPR these days. I accidentally switched over to real radio and I was like a vampire exposed to the sun.

I stand corrected, but there’s no need to call names.

Should have gone with “Police Action Machine” or “International Incident Machine,” so it was more ambiguous.

The Bible does have a lot of useful references for understanding history and culture and how religion shaped culture/geography, etc. It can be referenced a lot in classes, though I’m sure they’ll make sure to overreach on this one. Biology class, anyone?

I know but I’m not ready!

I know Chuck Berry is up there in heaven smiling down on all of us and pleasuring himself everytime a woman uses the bathroom.

Nothing like the death of a famous male musician to remind you that the overwhelming majority of famous male musicians are/were either sex offenders, woman beaters, or otherwise truly awful people. “Brown Eyed Handsome Man” and “Too Much Monkey Business” still own though.

And the white guy he stole his music from.

He was 90.

My condolences to his cousin Marvin.

Two things: 1) I really don’t expect stuffy white writers at the NYT to understand rap terms and their meanings. They probably think Snoop is uncle to everyone in the rap game if they listen to any one of his songs in the past ten years. They probably think Raekwon is actually a Chef.
