A cabinet with Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil? No.

No, she’s not. Neither is Jon Stewart, neither is Stephen Colbert. Al Franken is getting warmer. Just because they nominated a celebrity with no experience or interest in governance and he happened to win doesn’t mean we should do the same.

Because apparently we collectively haven’t learned that electing a president with no government experience is a bad thing.

I agree with much of her politics, but I think the last two months have provided solid evidence as to the inadvisability of putting a rank amateur into the Oval Office.

But Dr Phil and The Secret! 🙄

Please, please...stop. Oprah is great and all but, just....no. No more celebrity presidents. Like ever. I never thought I’d live to say this but I want a professional politician back in charge. Not just someone “from the tee-vee.”

If you don’t raise the money, you shouldn’t get a high wage! I can’t just go dig holes in my back yard, call it labor, and demand to be paid a living wage. It doesn’t work that way! You have to do something useful that people will pay for.

I find this to be a terrible ethical conundrum, because while I want the women’s team to be compensated fairly and equitably, I also want the olympics themselves (and ancillary competitions like world championships and world cups) to go extinct entirely.

Where are they going to get the money so USA Hockey can pay them. Women’s hockey is a non-revenue generating sport. Most of the Women’s College teams are supported by a University Men’s team. If you don’t live in Canada or Minnesota you only see live women’s hockey during the Olympics. USOC gives them a boost in pay

“Sadly it becomes a decision between chasing your dream or giving in to the reality of the financial burden.”

She posted this on a public social media forum for all the world to see, but now she’d “like some privacy”. Ugh.

I’m right there with you. It’s hard. I try to do things like give myself a weekly limit (it’s still very high) or drink only with other people or only wine. But it’s really hard. Hang in there.

I became an addict after years of abusing alcohol and drugs (especially opiates) to self medicate for my undiagnosed bipolar disorder. I hit rock bottom more times than I could count, lost my job, ended up in the hospital....getting help was the hardest and best thing I’ve ever done.

“I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step.”

And as a bonus you’ll meet some very cool people who are struggling with the same thing you are - and you may make some great friends. Because in my experience those people are some of the best and strongest people I’ve ever met. I am in awe of them.

Honestly, I feel like moral outrage at such a thing could be better directed elsewhere. Its not like public money is funding this. They clearly have a target demographic, and, I guess, its not women. Meh.

Seriously though, Charles Grodin is the best. Midnight Run ftw.

I’m so sorry for this, but: Comprises! Comprises! Not “comprised of.” Something is composed of stuff, and stuff comprises something.
