Yeah, I can. It’s kinda metallic and watery, similar to the smell rain makes. I used to be able to hear light bulbs, but we use those energy saving fluorescent ones now, which don’t make that sound (that I can hear, anyway). The big fluorescent lamps (like the ones they have in office buildings) I can hear, though.

I can smell an air conditioner from down the block.

Oh sure. Even a perfectly clean, new air conditioner still has a smell. It isn’t bad, to me anyway, but it’s there. Not sure what components that comes from. The freon supposedly remains entirely enclosed so I don’t think it’s that.

Many of ‘em can’t hear light bulbs, either. I know. It seems weird when you’re used to it.

I can always smell electricity, and I can tell when neighboring apartments turn on the tv. But when I was pregnant my heightened sense of smell was like a disability, it’s really kind of awful.

THANK YOU! I kind of shouted OZONE when I read the title.

OZONE! Yes, this is a thing, and yes, I could totally smell it when I was pregnant. I could smell EVERYTHING, which meant we had to switch everything in the world to “unscented” because I couldn’t deal with any of it. Nor coffee, my one true love. I could drink it okay, but the smell was trying to kill me.

Old TV’s used to have that smell, which I assume is what she is talking about? Fellow Olds will remember when you turned it on and got the “bwonnggg” sound and the static? It had sort of a metal smell.

Other people can’t smell that?

There are some questions that remain—namely, who is Wyatt and why is his story so important?

am I the only one who actually really likes Dolores and William and finds it romantic?

No, he is playing back the memories while still his “conscious” self. As such he is just pausing the memory playback and musing on it at will. He did the same thing with his son and telling him to wake up and then talking to him, that did not ever happen. It’s symbolic of it all being fabricated (just like him). Host

What about Bernard’s memory of being in bed with Theresa? As he’s getting up, she freezes, like a host that’s been told to stop. Was she a host too?

Ah well I mostly follow the reddit westworld discussions online and there the Maeve supporters are outnumbered by the detractors: they (mostly) don’t hate the character as much as the action surrounding her. The dumb technician subplot did not help.

I think calling clearly hinted-at reveals “reddit theories confirmed” is more than a little charitable to reddit

I thought Maeve was like everybody’s favorite? Who the fuck is into Elsie?

Wait, people don’t like Maeve?

I am completed unsurprised that a black woman on a genre show is disliked by fans. The ol’ Martha Jones syndrome.
