I thought so too, which is why I didn't like it quite as much as some episodes from last season.  I still thought it had some great moments, but this episode wasn't quite A material for me.

Agreed, although I was attributing his improved appearance to him not having that dead behind the eyes, I-don't-understand-these-magical-things-happening-around-me look on his face.  Also, the writers need to hurry up and graduate these kids from high school.  Matt has got to be pushing 30.

I actually thought that the blood vomit was a nice touch - I didn't expect them to go there, at least not as many times as they did. But yeah, it was super gross. And I am still bummed that she barfed all over her cute pink dress.

That guy must get around. I am pretty sure he was next to me when I went to see The Punisher.  Every time Rebecca Romijn or Laura Harring was on screen, he would start grunting and say "oh yeah" or "daaaaamn". That was not uncomfortable at all for a 20 year old girl….

I really love the Originals, but their time as the shows Big Bad has passed. We don't need them every week, but I do like that they are still around, occasionally stirring up some trouble.  I would be willing to keep Klaus around just to have more scenes between him and Caroline.

Overall I thought this episode was pretty great. I was seriously distraught twice - the first time when Elena barfed blood all over her pink dress in the bathroom (I loved that dress!), and the second time when ghost Alaric popped up at his grave. I did catch on to Damon saving him a seat at the bar, but I didn't…
