Looking at Steam, looks like it’s at Mostly Negative. But the reviews I saw (just the open ones) seem to be principally having problems with framerate, or it just won’t load for them.

Just like how people working for Kotaku got upset over a lyric in a game’s music that wasn’t actually there.
In this case it seems like they’re using an easy mode to try and compensate for the jankiness you described. It’s a bandaid fix for an otherwise deeper problem.
I was about to say that wasn’t as much of a tragedy, then realised what I was saying. I guess that’s telling.
As Sean said, the building isn’t owned by the Church, and Ubisoft is a French company that made a game that directly profited off using the likeness of the building in their game.
Strangely enough, since the fire at Notre Dame, donations to help those Black churches have soared. That is a good thing, ya know?
Notre-Dame is owned by the French state, not the Catholic Church, so it’s France’s burden to pay for the rebuilding.
Ubisoft is a French company. Let them do French things. Complain about the US sending money over there instead.
Except that Ubisoft is a French company (with offices in Paris) and that isn’t the case of Louisiana ever since 1803. So why should Ubisoft donate to the United States of America instead of aiding their own country and city? I’m sure there are enough wealthy people in America to donate themselves
Given that a) Ubisoft is a French company headquartered in Montreuil in the suburbs of Paris b) Ubisoft used the Notre Dame in a recent videogame so the case can be made that some of it’s profits can be attributed to people’s interest in it, it seems to make a lot of sense that they would feel strongly about…
Ubisoft is based in France - and this church is integral to one of their games.
And where are the stories from the other news outlets?
Why do so many people think Notre Dame is in Paris, Texas?
France and America are two different countries.
notre dame isn’t owned by the church since 1905; it’s state property
But Grenfell Tower wasn’t a well known tourist attraction and historical building that’s around 850 years old.
Anyone thinking about posting a “WHY NOT GIVE IT TO THE POOR!?” comment, maybe just go do that yourself right now instead of posturing here.
I see what you’re doing here, and I love all the comments from people who can’t understand why FromSoft fans don’t want an easy mode added and somehow equate that to...toxic gamer mentality?
It Kotaku long enough to pick up this story. Its been happening for almost a year.
Why is it so hard to shut the fuck up and mind your own business?
