Extensive as this is, I’m not sure I understand what the problem is. Our taboo on eating horse meat seems to drive the concern here, and as at least some of that taboo is effectively marketing for the horse racing industry.

How do you keep track of what you’re doing in each game? That’s a problem I have playing one JRPG at a time. Though Ni No Kuni II is brilliant at keeping me on track right now, there are some JRPGs I abandoned because I couldn’t remember what I was doing after setting the game aside for a month.

There’s got to be more though. Lots of people were rejected in high school, I’d even wager to say that most people at least thing they were rejected a lot in high school. Yet most of us do some combination of getting over it and getting better and get on with our lives.

More or less grindy than Secrets of Grindia? Once I finish Ni No Kuni II (which has become an obsession: 24 hours played in four days...) I’ll be looking for the next one.
