It’s being dismissed by some as a troll move since it’s unlikely to be passed, but one could argue this is a sensible measure during a pandemic.

So the experimental drug that he received is essentially an artificial antibody. It’s somewhat similar to another treatment that the FDA has authorized for emergency use, which is convalescent plasma therapy, which is more widely available. The main difference is that, in theory, the artificial monoclonal antibodies

True; however, the median age of a nursing home patient is older than President Trump (only about 15% are under 65) and the vast majority of 74 year old Americans infected with COVID-19 symptoms do not require hospitalization. My point was he clearly had a worse response to COVID-19 than the average 74 year-old America

I remember reading about a study that found that 2/5ths of nursing home patients testing-positive for COVID-19 reported no symptoms. Just because 74-year old men are much more likely than the average American to develop severe symptoms does not imply that the median 74 year old does poorly in response to an infection.

Why is it disturbing that the two haven’t been in close contact? Cheney hid in a bunker for months after 9/11. The VP is pretty much just an understudy for the President. He literally could send a staffer to the White House to keep him apprised and receive his own briefings at the Naval Observatory. Other than

I don’t think this is the case. The President and the Vice President becoming “incapacitated” is not something that the Republicans would allow to occur as it requires either the President himself, congress, or Trump’s cabinet to make the determination. The only way that Pelosi becomes President is if both the

Cain also didn’t receive two experimental drugs, one which shows great promise when administered early, because it basically floods your blood with antibodies, which avoids the delay time that it would take for your own body to ramp up its immune response. It’s like the difference between military forces attacking a

I think the odds are very good that Trump won’t die, but I also think there is a chance that his prognosis could worsen.

The sad truth is that Trump just doesn’t care about anyone but Trump. He doesn’t have friends. He has transactions. Maybe he cares about his family, maybe, but even then, I think a big reason is because they’re the only ones that he really trusts.

This actually isn’t true. Some states require the electors to vote for the winner of the popular vote and the Supreme Court has upheld these laws.

The truth is, nobody knows what happens. The ballots are already printed and cannot necessarily be changed. And in some states, it is illegal for electors to vote for someone other than the popular vote winner, so if that holds up, even if one or both of the candidates dies, the elector may still be required to cast

Also, VPNs can create a lot of bandwidth and performance overhead. If you have a slow upload speed and a slow computer and you add a VPN to the mix, that might push it past the upload threshold where you can maintain a good video stream. And if your VPN itself is slow or doesn’t have proper priority for video/audio

I’ve been wondering if the time limit on buying the game is because they intend to offer Wii and Gamecube games next year on some kind of premium subscription service.

It’s a lot of extra bandwidth for the cloud provider, not for the end-users. The servers are not sending every client the full video and audio content of every connected user. Even most video-conferencing rooms are only getting one or two full video feeds and maybe a content feed.

Honestly, I don’t think they care. If people are willing to go through the effort of pirating a game instead of putting in an extra hour or two at work to earn the money to buy it, then I don’t think that they were too likely to buy it in the first place.

I mean, from an individual perspective, probably not. Most video conferencing software handles 10 Mb/s upload speeds just fine.

Firstly, it is deeply weird and unusual for a high school history teacher to assign a novel to every student in a class, much less two. These aren’t standard texts approved by the State of California, nor by IB or AP. Secondly, there’s a huge difference between a history class having a primary source as an assigned

I mean, there are significant issues to argue against incorporating it into school curriculum. It’s run by a journalist, not an expert in history education.

There is literally nothing the Democrats can do other than politely ask their Republican colleagues to wait. If somehow they manage to win way more Senate seats than anyone is expecting, I guess they can threaten to pack the courts (assuming Trump loses and a justice is confirmed in a lame-duck session), but right
