His accountants purposefully make it hard to determine his wealth. Most credible estimates I have seen conclude he is likely worth between a few hundred million and a few billion dollars.

Can you name a President or Presidential candidate since Clinton stepped down that wouldn’t have seemed a lot cooler if he/she played the sax? Obama probably had the biggest “hip” factor since Clinton, but he would have been way hipper with a tenor on his lips.

Most States have something called voluntary manslaughter (third degree murder) which is murder with mitigating circumstances. If there are no mitigating circumstances, the crime is second degree murder. If there are mitigating circumstances, the crime is voluntary manslaughter.

Close, but not quite right. First degree murder is an illegal homicide committed with malice aforethought. Not all planned homicides are illegal and legal planned killings are not murder.

I don’t even remember if I watched it (not sure I was allowed to stay up that late back then), but I remember how all the adults were talking about how hip and young Clinton looked playing his sax. I think the news would replay a few seconds of him playing the sax almost every day for the next few years.

Now playing

But she was young enough to know how to login to the information superhighway to search for the term “Bill Clinton song”.

I had transcripts from the International Baccalaureate organization in Wales that I had to get my university to accept Freshman year. The lady who handled transfer credits kept insisting that I must be a foreign exchange student, because they were the only ones who would try to do an IB credit transfer. I pointed out

Nobody really knows how much Trump is worth, but pretty much ever credible estimate puts it under $5 billion. He may even be worth less than $1 billion.

If that were the case in Florida, I doubt that Zimmerman would have been found not-guilty when he was put on trial for homicide. Interviews with the jury showed that the jury felt that they were legally obligated to find Zimmerman not guilty because the prosecution had not disproved Zimmerman’s self-defense claim

If a defendant claims self defense and the judge/prosecutor allows voluntary manslaughter charges, they will be given these instructions by the judge in addition to any second degree murder instructions and perfect self-defense instructions.

I know for a fact that is not how it works in California. The jury instructions are very clear that mitigating factors are up to the jury to decide when they render their verdict. If the judge is allowing the defendant to be found guilty of different degrees of murder and manslaughter, the jury will be given specific

That’s not how it works, at least not in California or most other States. Being an affirmative defense does not shift the burden of proof to the jury. It just requires that the defendant present sufficient evidence to the judge for the claim to be made to the jury. Once the judge allows the affirmative defense, the

Why? The legal system recognizes that mitigating circumstances to murder exist. Like, they realize that there’s a difference between killing someone because he looked at you funny (second degree murder) and killing someone because you came home and found out that he had just molested your 12 year old.

Changed it how? My understanding is that in almost every state the burden of proof is always on the prosecutor to prove the defendant guilty beyond all reasonable doubt. That means, if the defendant claims self-defense, the prosecution has to prove it was not self-defense beyond a reasonable doubt.

He can be impeached for “high crimes and misdemeanors”, which can mean literally anything congress wants it to mean. But a conviction requires 67 Senators, and there are not even close to that many ready to find Trump guilty of the crime of saying ridiculous shit in an impeachment trial.

It’s not because Trump’s getting worse. It is because his staff is less able or willing to reign him in. Batshit crazy stuff like buying Denmark used to just be rumors whispered in bars around Washington that his staff managed to keep quiet. Now it’s all our in the public.

Trump literally refusing to leave the White House would be funny as hell. Nobody is going to call in the Marines to kick him out. The new President is going to get sworn in, Trump’s staff will leave and the incoming administration’s staff will come in. Eventually, the new President will order the kitchen staff to stop

I doubt Trump actually understands why so many Jewish-Americans condemned Omar’s comment as anti-Semitic. He’s too stupid to understand his own hypocrisy.

Yes, I think Trump is an old man who is very confused about why his slightly stronger support for Israel than Obama has not netted him the instant adoration of the American Jewish community. I think he is angry that the vast majority of Jewish-Americans have a positive opinion of Obama but have a negative opinion of

A few things that the President does not seem to understand:
