Most American Jews support Israel and most do not support attacks against Muslim-Americans simply for being Muslim. I think your insinuation that the “AIPAC type” Jews support anti-Muslim bigotry is wrong. You seem to be implying that support for Israel, support for the current Netanyahu government, and anti-Muslim

The problem is, those kind of questions are not good journalism and if Trump’s press secretary banned the reporter who asked them, he might actually have some support.

He certainly has been the most consistently unpopular President in the history of modern polling.

Journalists have tried. He just ignores them. If it gets bad, he walks out of the room and talks to the media through a Fox news interview or something softball.

Asking him these kinds of questions is a fundamental job of the media. It is how democratic country functions. Maybe the media should have given him less coverage when he was just one of many people running for the Republican nomination. But now that he is actually the most powerful person in the world, it iimportan

I don’t think he has the authority to ban asylum seekers who actually manage to make it into the US or a port of entry.

Yes, but surprisingly, the Democrats and Republicans have actually done a really good job at coming up with compromise budgets during the Trump administration that give both sides most of the spending for the programs they want.

Version 2.0 was created for the Burger King flame griller. Version 1.0 was made out of wheat and falls apart.

I really doubt it. Farming is incredibly inefficient. Consider having an acre of apple trees versus having an acre of photovoltaic cells. The amount of energy that an artificial apple would take to produce would probably be a fraction of the energy that the amount of land required to produce one apple would generate

Well, I’m not sure if I would call it “natural”. Really, none of the food we buy at the supermarket is completely natural. It’s just a marketing gimmick anyway.

If an individual is arrested, they should understand they retain the right to remain silent and should express that out loud. They should also ask for a lawyer immediately.

I always find it interesting how modern orthodox Jews try to make medieval era laws based on ancient scripture work in the modern world. I always liked this passage from Surely You’re Joking Mr. Feynman.

Also, it is a default judgement. He did not show up in court to defend himself, which usually results in the plaintiff getting what they ask for. If he can show that he was not properly notified of the trial or was unable to attend, he might be able to get the judgement nullified.

I disagree. The future is manufactured food. If we could 3D print an apple on demand, that cuts out a huge amount of food waste, pollution, land use, et cetera. If we can manufacture a steak in petri dish for the same cost or lower than current steaks, we just eliminated a ton of food waste, pollution, energy waste,

Here’s a question for you Rabbi, if a plant has an animal gene spliced into it, can you eat it with cheese? What does the Talmud say about that?

There are no Impossible Burgers in the frozen food aisle. They were supposed to launch this year, but I think they got overwhelmed by orders, so they only ship to a handful of restaurant customers.

I’ve had almost a dozen of them. About half of them have been overcooked (like a Whopper) and the other half were cooked correctly. I’m honestly not sure what’s going on there since I thought they had an automated flame-broiler that should cook all their burgers exactly the same.

If an impossible burger is “well done” it doesn’t taste very good. The best ones have that medium rare taste, but some restaurants have a hard time getting it right.

Impossible burgers are manufactured as an actual coherent patty, so I don’t think you could just break apart the meat and mix it with hamburger, put it on the grill, and have something that wouldn’t fall apart. It would have to be designed that way and they would have to set up an assembly line in Oakland to produce

Trump is not a smart man, but he is smart enough to know not to use explicit racial epithets. He’s never going to, “drop an N-bomb.” He is just going to keep escalating his attacks on immigrants, especially Latinos and Muslims, because that is the very shtick that got him elected back in 2016 He won’t even use racial
