In EU they are moving, but too slow and ‘didn’t see Putin coming’. I think most (more paranoid people) saw Putin coming for like 15 years ago, but well, now it happened. Best way is to become totally un-reliant on Russia for ANYTHING and then block them from the international trade system (from money to regular trade)…
By downplaying this first initiative and giving him also so much attention you probably are going to achieve the opposite ; people will want to join him to prove you wrong and people are going to find out about this convoy, thanks to you, and join him.
Imagine we didn’t have to rely on oil and gas to keep the world turning.
Then Russia would have been bombed back to the stone-age already a decade ago.
Now Europe is hesitant ; it needs Russian gas and it’s hard to demand gas when you’re also at war with the supplier.
The longer the EU can stall this war, the less chance…
It’s not like we had trouble in the past with locks and keys and things frozen so some genius minds came up with keyhole defrosters...
And the usual advice like vaseline or wd40 or lithium grease or whatever would keep the lock from freezing shut.
I actually think a controlled smack on the door is pretty convenient…
Doesn’t seem like sushi to me.
I think it’s fair to say that on a regular, new-ish, vehicle such a problem would not have been found, neither by the owner or in some inspection, no matter that happens in Germany or the US.
BUT what I think does need to happen is that such OLD cars should be checked very very thoroughly before they’re being used on…
I’m going to put these on my original era-correct BBS aftermarket rims.
10% ? Try close to 25% for older people and 5% for those between 65 and 69.
The above numbers are from a fairly modern western country (and from this week).
And in the US we’re seeing now a 0.24% death rate, among ALL people, not just among those who are were infected.
And that number is likely to rise while we’re not…
I just hope it’s going to be a clean race, not controversial.
I don’t mind if Verstappen or Hamilton wins, as long as they win in a normal way else next year it’s going to be a shitshow.
Also these stewards and race directors and what not should respond faster to issues. They should also have 2 teams, so when 1 team…
I think we can all agree by now (2021) that doing a high speed chase to try to stop a stolen car filled with young criminals pumped with adrenaline, isn’t the best idea.
So instead of trying to justify the way the police responds we can try to think of how to prevent the (armed) robbery.
For example by equipping all…
You understand by the time your kid is allowed to drive legally that he’ll probably keep driving his bike, use public transport or get a lifelong membership, paid upfront, for Uber...
The trauma you’re causing him is... going to change him.
it...is...not...special.
it...is...just...a...nice...Mercedes
It’s not a nimble C, nor a great S. It’s an E. In the middle. It doesn’t have a big engine and doesn’t have the iconic looks of the previous years like a W123 or the older W114.
Beautiful car.
Impressive specs.
No silly ‘PC correct’ hybrid/battery stuff that will not work anymore after 10,15,20 years while that V12 will be perfectly serviceable (with deep enough pockets of course).
Sold! (not to me unfortunately)
The problem isn’t the asking price, but the costs required to make it run well and then to keep it running well, for 100.000 miles.
Dat zound !
A lot of cars have 3 settings for seat heating. 1 is barely warm even at moderate temperatures. Just enough to ‘defrost’ the seat and to make it say 20 C (~70 F) which is not cold and not hot. Setting 2 and 3 are only needed when it’s freezing or worse.
It’s a 27 year old car. It’s not special. It is just a nice Mercedes. If something breaks you have to search how to solve it. And things will break on older cars. Can it last for longer? Sure. But you gotta work on that. Before you know it you spent $10k on this car. It is not a V8 or an AMG model. It is not a…
Yeah I had a similar friend. With an X6M. He also had a C63 (AMG) wagon. The X6M was a rocket. The C63 also. But the C63 was just RWD and was very tail-happy to the point that you’d have to drive carefully. The heavier but AWD X6M was like a train. And with proper (M) suspensions I can assure you that the car had…
Rear view and visibility ; who cares!
1. there are already plenty of pretty decent rear view mirrors with a screen in there that use a simple camera near the license plate
2. (pickup) truck drivers also don’t have a rear view when they’re loaded
3. it’s not as if modern “new” drivers are able to drive backwards even with…
