If I was Hertz I’d limit those Teslas by software to say 80 mph and the acceleration to say 0-60 in 8s. Should save some mpg as well.

Replace rich kid with kid that rented the same Lambo for a day because he saved enough money to rent one for his birthday,

then how should we judge the birthday kid compared to the rich kid ?

The same ? Different ? Please discuss.

I think for one that the Autopilot would unlikely AND accelerate to 67 mph on city roads AND manage to crash itself like we immediately could see from the photos released on the day of the crash.

Occam’s Razor. Do we think Autopilot would do such a strange thing or might it be a typical stupid driver doing something

If they’d remove a lot of the unique selling points then the truck won’t be more appealing than a regular EV truck. Also if (too many) people would buy the $70k model and they’d make a loss on that one then they should could get into (financial) trouble.

Or they will just deliver a few trucks (say 1500) in the first

I bet the people that are in the market for a Ford truck are not really interested in EV and rather Roll Coal and things like that. While the audience that is flocking to the Rivian RT1 might be first time truck buyers and also come from many other brands.

Someone having a Toyota or Nissan or Mitsubishi or Chevy truck

It IS possible that the wright brothers tried to fly backwards, I mean forwards, but lying backwards. It does make more sense, right? :)

Correct, 6'5" with shoes and it means I can’t sit normal in most MODERN cars let alone sportscars. Or I will hit my head every sharp turn or when you’d have to brake unexpectedly. Or you’d sit very uncomfortable, barely able to drive more than 30 minutes before your back would be killing you or your legs would go numb

The truck looks like a solution to all our problems but I really hope they can sell it at that price and keep selling them at that price.

The setup of the car was probably rockhard. The NBR track is very uneven, especially when you drive near 280 where others hardly dare to drive 200.

Because that is the concept of a free market economy.

If you want to regulate the market (what can be supplied) then the populace will tell you that you’re a socialist, that socialism and fascism and communism has take over the US.

Hint ; that hasn’t happened or isn’t happening; such (safety) regulations are just

1st ; It doesn’t sound very capitalistic to not exploit the workforce and reap billions in dollars during a global crisis.

D.mn, maybe those socialists were right after all.

4th ; “The BMW Group is not worried about this.” because by the time sales would drop that much after 2030 then the whole BMW Group board has

The problem is however that if you get Covid that you have a high risk ending up in the hospital or dead. That is quite a price to pay for ‘more antibodies’.

Instead I prefer to get for example 2 shots every year and pay some dollahs for that, to keep my antibodies high enough so IF I’d get it then I’d still NOT end

While we aren’t there yet ; I can see a future where ships become fully electric. With or without huge battery packs, perhaps with fuel-cells (hydrogen), solar panels on the deck, sails, etc. If pollution becomes more important than costs then all those options should be on the table.

What did you want as an alternative ? Prices that would have been twice or three times as high for nearly EVERYTHING for the past say 2 decades?

Your current wealth is BECAUSE of cheap manufacturing in other countries (not just China).

Perhaps Munchausen’s Syndrome ? (not by proxy)

As a V8 (na) Merc owner ; this engine is solid and fun. Solid as in ; it hardly has any known problems and fun ; it has plenty of torque for this platform (C-class). It’s a great car, until it was surpassed by the 6.2 V8 (M156) with over 460 hp. But that engine (I got one) has plenty of issues. This one ; not so much.

T

I almost don’t recognize this car as a BMW.

That’s a serious problem in the time when dozens of car makers are trying to win you over.

I don’t think taxing rich people is going to help the chip shortage and lower car prices...

While I don’t have the money for it, a BMW M model, Z4, coupe, manual, 3.2 straight 6, LSD ... this won’t get much cheaper in the near future.

As iconic as an E30 M3 ? Perhaps not. Better styling than an E36 M3 ; yup.

Driving/handling? That depends. The Z4s are ‘long’ and quite a bit ‘front-heavy’.

Again, this is NOT a
