I think you are basing your worldview on too few data points. I got through 4 years of college in the aughts and never saw that book on a bookshelf, nor did I ever hear of it until now.  Certainly nobody ever pretended to have read it in my presence.

I think Uber’s “plan” requires either one or both of these two things to happen before the VC money and patience runs out:

BMW’s turbo 4 is plenty strong for a base model entry-lux sedan.  You’re really making an issue out of nothing.
