I see no problem with people trying to achieve standards of beauty in the beauty industry but perhaps the beauty industry is long overdue in broadening the definition of what “marketable” beauty is.

You’re talking about something you have no idea about; both in what is a safe speed for non-motorized combined use pathway, and what it takes to train for elite level competition in this arena.

We have to do it because we’re not allowed to ride on walking paths (or exceed 30 km/hr speed limits) in the cities. If you want to get in a serious ride (50+km) you have no choice but to hit the highways. Hopefully you can find somewhere with decent sized shoulders. It can be scary as sh*t thou.

Where else is a professional cyclist supposed to ride? To properly train these cyclists need uninterrupted road without stoppages and most always it’s impossible to avoid cars on these roads.
