Ok, now go to Apple’s website and look at the promo page for the iPhone 7+. Find the section where they talk about the camera and “Portrait Mode”. Do you see beta there? Nope. Finally cluing users in after they made their purchase is hardly the same and making it clear in the promotional materials.

it’s important to keep in mind that this sophisticated software has a very specific purpose. It’s for shooting people, preferably in good lighting, preferably sans glasses, and preferably with styled hair.
