I have lived in and continue to spend plenty of time in rural areas. Literally nobody I know who lives in rural areas (farms, mountains - really rural, I promise) has an assault rifle. I only a few have handguns. Most people use the same guns for hunting as for self defense. Even with no police response I don’t know

I can understand having hunting rifles, but what is with the handguns and assault weapons? Honestly why would ANYONE think they need weapons like this?

Yeah it was awful. I think back on how vulnerable I was and I am very glad it wasn’t worse, but it was so inexcusable. I was so clearly in so far over my head, and these men knew and took advantage of it. It was worse for a friend of mine.
