My 5-series has a lovely little storage slot for the key so this is never an issue if I don’t feel like keeping it in my pocket.

Yup. I get asked all the time and cannot in good conscience recommend any FCA products to anyone. I know a guy who bought a new, top trim JKU a few years back. He’s dumping it after like 35,000 miles because it’s had nothing but problems. When even the “good” and “simple” and “robust” FCA cars are junk, that doesn’t

The R you can get with a manua or a DSG.

Yup. Not a wise play to do that... lifestyle creep is very real and dangerous.

It’s fucking absurd. We’re looking into a performance SUV for my better half and one option is the BMW X3 M40i xDrive. Such a stupid name.

Excuse me my 911 would like a word with you...

They’re fantastic cars and I highly recommend them. Air cooled models are also very reliable for what they are. Look into 3.2 Targas, or SC Targas which have had their head stud issues resolved. The Targa models are still a bit unloved so driver-quality cars can be had around $30k pretty consistently, maybe lower if

You don’t need that much power. I’ve driven a (real) 356 Convertible D, which is basically a Speedster with more useable windows and a “luxury” interior, and ~60hp is more than enough to be fun with a car that light and with manual brakes and steering.

Nope. I had an Audi lowered with quality parts at a reputable shop for $900.

It is extremely odd to me that Porsche didn’t buy this for their museum via a private deal.

Fairfield County, CT, reporting... I agree with you 100%. That would be easily $50M+ if it was commutable to NYC.

I do ok personally, wouldn’t say I’m rich, but I did inherit the 911s. My dad bought them pre-bubble, 2005 and 2008 respectively, so they were probably some of the best-timed and highest percentage return investments he ever made. And they’re also fun as hell just as cars.

That tech definitely does exist. I was driving a new SQ5 yesterday that read speed limit signs... I could tell it wasn’t nav-based because when I turned onto a new road it didn’t show a limit in the HUD until I passed a sign.

Pink Pig was a 917, and a super iconic one at that... I know there’s another 917 livery there but Pink Pig would be a stretch. Especially given how that livery originated, it’s tied so closely to the 917 that it shouldn’t really be applied to another model IMO.

It isn’t rare by Ferrari standards, but that’s a huge asterisk. It looks like they made ~1200 GTBs of all stripes, 330 of which were GTB/4s. Plenty rare if you’re looking to locate one to steal in less than a week.

Bear in mind this is Los Angeles... completely plausible that there would be one dealer that specialized in high-dollar vintage Ferraris and had a bunch in stock.

Dalton in Hot Fuzz... even higher than #1.

Life imitates art.

Same. I kept that updated for an embarrassingly long time.

Yes. He’s a poor rural person’s idea of what a rich city person is.
