not my wish. It’s fact.
not my wish. It’s fact.
Yes. I will keep being accurate. You keep being racist. Seems to work for you.
Asian.
both look Asian... dummy.
in this circumstance? It sure is :) You don’t get to hide behind “history” to explain your hypocrisy and racism.
It’s not up to Margaret Cho to alleviate Tilda Swinton’s white guilt. It’s not her job.
bingo
I believe my emails stand on their own and should be taken for the spirit in which they were intended.
A cherry-picked picture
why would I listen to people who are completely wrong?
awesome comment. I can tell you I grew up similar. In Flint, Michigan. All my aunts and uncles worked in factories. Just havens of racism, sexism and homophobia. It wasn’t until near the end of college that I even started to question my own sexuality, and it took me a long time to come out when I did. Growing up where…
I don’t need to declare victory. I’m right and you’re wrong. Pretty obvious lol.
no
Romanian is not and never has been the kind of Asian we’re talking about.
yes. And in the period the character was created, was Asian. Also, many in that region consider Transylvanians and Romanians as Asian as well. I know, not really convenient for you, but facts are facts. Thanks. Bye :)
But to say that people should be equally upset about a white character being played by a black man is a bridge too far.
I didn’t hit on that... Tilda Swinton hit on that in her email. That’s a big reason the studio made the switch in the first place - the China market. And then they decided to go more diverse to a woman.
Turning a white character black does not have the same effect as taking a role away from someone of color.
stop. Just stop. We’re not talking about a Google search here. Don’t dumb something down so you can be dumb in exchange.
Sucks that she made that mistake. He’s Asian. You can read words, or go check out the comics yourself. Your call.
