That’s understandable. I find them entertaining because I’m acutely aware that everything isn’t real (I work in the entertainment business) so it’s kinda fun to imagine how they did the effects, especially if they are practical effects. I love The Thing (the 80s version) even though it scares the beejesus out of me

To each their own.

I like horror to a certain degree, I can’t do torture porn or slasher flicks but can deal with the supernatural. It’s okay to have limits or boundaries, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

ARE YOU LITERALLY ME

I thought I was the only one who did this. I have no interest in getting scared in a movie theater but I am drawn in by the trailers.

Is it just me? I don’t bother watching a movie until I’ve read the plot summary on Wikipedia to know if it’s worth my time.

Same!

I do this too! Anything that isn’t a romance or comedy I want to know what I’m getting into.

Yesss the Wikipedia ploy synopsis! I can’t handle watching them, but damn if I’m not curious about what happens. Glad to know I’m not the only one.

I love that about them for the times when I doze off or get distracted while watching a movie and miss a scene/plot point or two.

Not into watching scary movies but I do love to read the Wikipedia plot summaries for them. Will be checking this one out!

Agree with both of you. If Hillary follows through on the energy agenda she lays out out in her platform, there can be great benefits for the environment, the climate crisis, and job creation in this country. It’s not the Manhattan Project-style approach that I feel would have the best chance of saving all of our

Honestly, for these two candidates talking about actual policy this election is just pointless. Anyone who cares about those issues already knows where the parties stand. Getting into more detail can only hurt them with the voters they are trying to sway - undecided/mild reps for Clinton, and staunch republicans for

That underscores my point, I think?

Calm down and lighten up- I’m voting for her, just making a light joke about the relative import of celebrity worship vs. the catastrophe of our age. Climate change has been largely ignored in this election, which leads me to believe that no one has much of a plan besides Stein, who is otherwise an idiot.

None of the candidates have really spoken about climate change or its effects on the extreme weather and food and water stability, mass migration, and conflicts over resources, but good to know where Clinton stands on the real issues of the day!

That must have been why they released Stranger Things when they did - so the kids could do all the publicity while school was out for summer and they wouldn’t have as many issues with work permits.

Robert Osborne did a panel with a bunch of child actors from like the 30's-40s including Margaret O’Brien. There was one guy, his father either died or couldn’t work and so him working was literally the only thing that kept the family fed. He didn’t hit Mickey Rooney level of fame but he seemed to work steady enough

I think it’s cruel and gross regardless of her seriousness.

I just finished a book called “Is Gwyneth Paltrow wrong about everything?” and it’s about society’s obsession with fame and the celebrity. Sadly all too many families are willing to throw away their child’s time and sink in vast amounts of money hoping their child will be the “one.” Be it sports, acting, singing. You
