Her voice bothered me too, especially on the excessive use of the word “Camelot.” Natalie Portman’s cadence is very particular and when she tries to affect a different accent, I don’t feel like it’s successful.

Yes! She looks nothing like Jackie, which shouldn’t necessarily be a pre-requisite, but when casting historical figures, I always feel like the chosen actor/actress needs to be pretty damn close or at least better transformed.

Same. This is why I have a hard time with biopics of very famous people played by similarly well-known actors. Julia Roberts as Erin Brokovich worked because no one knew what Erin Brokovich really looked like, and Straight Outta Compton worked because nobody knew who the actors were. But with Natalie Portman as Jackie…

Hm. I know that some people are not impressed with Natalie Portman’s acting ability, but I usually like her a lot. However, with this trailer I spent the whole time thinking that is Natalie Portman playing Jackie Kennedy and it doesn’t work for me.

DAMMIT. My dad was just diagnosed with “either Parkinsons’s with dementia or LBD, time will tell”, so I’ve been reading up on them all week. Had never heard of LBD previously. Hate hearing how fast it came on for Williams, while he was still so young. What a waste of a wonderful mind.
