It worked for me very well at first, but for a couple months now its been messing up my Contacts sync. Last I checked, it wasn't finding duplicates either.

@HegemonWiggin: Try having your external drive on a NAS. Downright painful. I disconnected for a minute, then when I reopened Picasa it started scanning from 0% again. I almost cried.
