God bless Emma Thompson.
I just watched her in Ang Lee’s Sense and Sensibility and she is a constant delight. Especially since she also wrote the film’s script.

Well, yeah.

That’s objectively true—and there’s a certain element of irony in the absolute viciousness with which some folks will deny that fact.

However, Sanders’ policies are, in general, much more humane, better for the environment, and better for our international alliances and obligations. It’d be nice if he could

Yeah maybe it’s a bad idea to spend 18 months calling a large segment of voters naive idiot bros because their economic policies fall to the left of Margaret Thatcher.

No chance. Hillary really screwed everything up in 2016 and everyone knows that now. Bernie would have captured the hearts, imagination, and of course the attention of the nation and handily defeated Trump. That was then. Now Bern will have his vengeance on Middle America MAGA Monkeys.

He literally says things were better “when men were men.” There’s just no good way to take that.

The baby boomers are clearly the worst living generation. Every indicator of social disorder went up when they arrived, and while most of those problems have declined since then it was often at the cost of things that help a society function. Millennials (like myself) can be quite dumb, because young people start out

I can’t wait to see them get punished for not “waking up and seeing the nice guy right in front of them”

I will never forget a negative review of ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ I read which, amongst other things, complained about the lengthy Benjamin Brittan sequence at the start explaining how the sections of an orchestra work together because the reviewer couldn’t see what it had to do with the film. I thought, “Are you kidding

The bit about how this is the worst generation and how previous generations were better is only true if you’re white, male, and middle-to-upper class.

Rich, old, straight, white men are the real heroes. They’ll explain why minorities are wrong about racism, why women are wrong about sexism and why the poor just aren’t trying hard enough. They are the true voices of reason.

He’s the Pod Save America of writers. (ie garbage)

Don’t kill the messenger. You know t’was Sorkin jerking himself off with a keyboard that lead to one of the most pretentious monologues in HISTORY lol.

A Boomer Fantasia

Aaron Sorkin poisoned the minds of a certain class of young liberal. The kind who now think that “doing politics” means technocrats working in a K-Street-and-West-Wing bubble, where the people actually impacted by the decisions you make are uneducated rabble who deserve nothing but scorn and disdain, and where all it

I can’t wait to see more storylines about women’s inability to properly use smart phones and staircases.

That clip of Jeff Daniels going on and on about how life in America used to be better because people were nicer and didn’t lock their doors has become a blight upon our Facebook feeds and society in general. No more of this character.

Well, everyone knows most AV Club commentators have seen Rushmore.  What this comment presupposes is... maybe someone didn’t?

The delivery of “giving each other handjobs” is what makes it extra killer. Kudos, child actor whose name I’m not taking to the time to look up right now.

I don’t get that from Rushmore at all, not least because there’s a clear arc for Max through the film. Also to be honest they’re ruining each other’s lives rather than hers.

I love Moonrise Kingdom for many reasons, but the soundtrack is a huge part of it. In it, Anderson has a film properly set in the 60s, but the music is predominately choral and orchestral pieces by Benjamin Britten. (Plus some Hank Williams.)
