Most people wouldn’t call getting help with a college essay “cheating.” I suspect that many, many “underprivileged” kids get help of some sort from their high schools (at least I hope they do! an English teacher to look it over, at least).

Yes! I’m also pretty sure that essays are a really, really small factor in college admission decisions. I don’t think the author helped hapless white kids as much as she thinks she did.
