My take is, everyone has the right to an independent life where, ultimately, they get to make their own decisions. That includes the right to make bad decisions, irrational decisions, decisions that make you look like an asshole, etc. It’s the right to waste your money on idiotic shit and dumb investments, to drink

Is he really being made fun of? I didn’t really read it that way, and didn’t even realize it was about a colonoscopy.  (Nevertheless, your post has good and important info about colon cancer screening!  So thanks for that regardless.).

Interesting, because “a popular and important 96 year old woman died” strikes me as quite a different explanation for shutting down hospitals than “the workers are protesting working conditions that leave them miserable and completely burned out.”  Kind of a weird thing to both sides!

This last week must have been a jarring one for anyone who says the British monarch is mostly a powerless, symbolic figurehead.

You know, you are undoubtedly allowed to kill someone when you have a reasonable fear that you are in imminent danger of severe harm or death from that person. I would think anything that purports to be a “justice” system would take seriously the possibility that a child who had just repeatedly been sexually assaulted

To underscore this point, in Colorado over the summer a man got his car stuck, called 911 for help, was never suspected of a crime, never committed a crime, and yet ended up dead at the end of an unnecessarily tense 90 minute “confrontation,” riddled with bullets from police officers who apparently thought this

Anyone can have any response they like to a thing that happens publicly.  No one needs a cosigner to their own reactions to things.

I don’t think that was rape either, but I don’t think that’s what OP was referring to.  He is saying Rhaenyra raped her guard.

Officers overseeing the operation also claimed they hadn’t considered that an attack like this would happen.”

Republicans are making the messaging for this midterm as easy as possible for Democrats. The party line like TWO months ago was “returned to the states,” and now there is an abortion ban. Dems need an ad in every close-to-competitive race noting they lied about this and aren’t even trying to hide it. What else are

What is this argument in response to?

Not necessarily. Welcome to a county that has free speech, where people are allowed to challenge you however they like.  Sorry you don’t feel like defending the ideas you spew into the world!

Depends on your own personal moral compass. I didn’t declare either of the situations “wrong” or “right,” just pointing out that there are actually enough differences between the two that you can decide one is “wrong” and the other “right” and not necessarily be inconsistent.  I personally wouldn’t show up to any

I will bet if you try real real hard, you can find one or two differences between the anti-gay protesters who repeatedly showed up at the private funerals of soldiers who were not public figures in any way shape or form to try to protest homosexuality and what they perceived as the “gay agenda” which those dead

Maybe so, maybe not, but probably not really the point.

Also turns out she didn’t have to go through ANY of the stages of grief when her “mother” died giving childbirth.  Whip smart, this one.

I wonder if she knew the guy she was kissing was an actor, not really her uncle, and maybe that helped.  Important lesson if so.

that’s not rape

lol, speaking of “try-too-hard,” look at the first two comments in this thread

So then she should have caused a constitutional crisis.  Not a single thing in your post supports the notion that she had no choice but to remain silent about whatever her actual political beliefs were.  She could have spoken up about any damn thing she pleased.
