The internet blows it out of proportion a little (no surprise) - the issue is in reality rare, but very real. What doesn’t help is there aren’t $1,000 engine cores readily available to swap in - the car is pretty much a goner as a replacement motor is likely close to the total value of the car.

This nice, safe box to take children to prep school was never intended to pound apex curbs. 3rd place in the BTCC in 95 and 96 though, and tons of street cred for Volvo.
The droid I took was a C55. Smaller, lighter, and more spry than the E55, plus the bonus of no complex supercharger, no air suspension, no brake by wire.
I’m actually partial to the 996 turbo at this time. For the price of a Mustang GT premium, you can get a nice, low mileage one like this one.
