Who would want to be seen in this disproportionate POS?

File under: so ugly it’s almost cool, but that rear glass is really poorly sized.

Just give us the option as much as possible. Forced into one or the other sucks.

I don’t HATE autos, especially the newer dual clutch things. They’re efficient and very fast. But there are a few cars I would have loved to see with a true manual OPTION:

Dymaxion car.

When in doubt, whip it out.

The Carrera 4 is hilariously complex. The awd system is derived from the 959 and is somehow linked to everything. IIRC you need a special, long discontinued computer to bleed the brakes.

Most of the extra tire went inboard, which surprisingly made the steering easier. Something about scrub radius.

I finally got mine to blow luke cool air out of the vents, but it definitely is not enough to cool the cabin.

Hell, you don’t even need a 964, though working A/C and power steering would sometimes be nice.

Nationwide Insurance Super Bowl ad with the dead kid.

Good one! As for more modern Porsches, I’ll pick a GT2 RS:

I vote factory 1973 RSR as the coolest ever made.

If my Carrera’s value ever crosses paths with a 996tt I’m making the swap.

Agreed. Strongly dependant on if this is a 1-2 year car, and if it’s eclipsed with a newer / better model immediately or not.

Don’t tell anyone. I’m waiting for the 986S to go under $10k for a nice one.

I think we’re past the “starting to” phase, but the NSX was expensive and low powered at the time, and languished along with low sales for years. Especially early ones could’ve been picked up for (relatively) cheap used maybe 5-8 years ago.

Extreme example - I saw an ad for a used 918 Spyder, with 5,000 miles, for $500k OVER msrp. I’m sure insurance wasn’t cheap on that thing, but that’s negative cost of ownership. Someone earned money by buying and driving that car. Rich people problems.

Yes, we’ll see. Boss 302 values are holding very, very well. Garden variety Mustang GT not as well.

Yup, I’m purely speculating. But the common-as-dirt ST values are guaranteed to bomb to nothing in a few years. The RS will absolutely at least depreciate less percentage-wise.
