Still think spending a few dollars more for the RS would be the smarter money. Could be wrong.

At this point in time, I see zero objective reason to choose the STi. The RS seems to be a superior car in every way.

You’re looking at a limited production, AWD, torque vectoring, 345hp mini-monster.

Supposedly also too loud to even run on many tracks, so ultimately mostly useless.

If we’re going back in history too, Mopar supposedly did crazy stuff if you knew the right option boxes for drag racing.

Can you buy a 991 RSR right from Porsche? I’m pretty sure you could with the 997, perhaps the 991 is still getting sorted out by factory teams before they release to privateers.

In most things, success = fat and happy.

This is how to show off an engine under glass.

The regular Impreza, while not ugly, looked rather plain. I believe the 2.5RS was a test to see if the US market was interested in the rally car look before spending the big bucks to federalize the real WRX.

A clear plexi hood window to show off...

This was so despised they removed it mid-cycle, iirc.

In fairness, it was a bit of a test case by Subaru to see if the US was interested. The actual WRX came later as a result of the success of the 2.5RS here.

The G6 GXP was the absolute worst. Yes, this was factory.

The hood scoop and vents on the original US 2.5RS were non-functional, iirc.

The CR-Z would’ve been better with one of two options:

I mentioned this in my answer yesterday, but this was a show for two seasons. James and some other dude basically doing a TG style show about wine.

The Gear was an amazingly cool concept. Would have been an awesome CR-Z replacement.

He comes across as cold, calculating, and only in it for profit to me. I watch the show though from time to time, definitely better than all the Orange County Chopper type shows.

Yeah, I think I was a little too harsh on Wayne overall, but I find the show borderline.
