While AMG complete vehicles aren't exactly Jalopnik darlings, one thing you never hear is someone complaining about their motors. I'm all for this.

Here is said charger in action. As you can see, it's totally safe.

Shifting a 915 gearbox is definitely an occasion. They're like grumpy German mistresses.

:secret hand shake:

That's about the weight of a Smart ForTwo, so it technically still can be done to meet modern crash standards.

Very well put. It's not that it's a terrible car - it's totally competent. The problem is that the bar is so high, and the competition so fierce in the class, that competent just isn't enough. I've never used one, but the first gen iDrive button baffled every single automotive journalist on the planet. And we all know that journos are the cream of the intellectual crop.

All of these.

I have an R53. It's up to about 150k now. It's seen a lot of autocross time and some track laps, and I hit the rev limiter on my commute daily. It hasn't been issue free, but it's been pretty good. Here's what I have replaced outside of standard maintenance:

That’s like saying all food is good if you put enough hot sauce on it. What’s underneath still counts.

Sorry about your luck, hopefully the next owner will love it more than you did.
