Sadly to say, there is precedence for this. A bunch of students in the 60s wore anti-veitnam war buttons to school, were told to take them off or leave, took their case to SCOTUS, and SCOTUS said “They can wear them”. Forget the specific case though.

Eh... that’s sort of an apples to oranges comparison? SpaceX and Tesla (and Paypal) are all companies that started in our lifetimes. Ford, GM, and FCA (or well, the companies that make up it) all started before our lifetimes.
