Eh, Platinum's games have always been pretty niche, and this seemed like a much larger-scale game than they had tried to make before, so it's not much of a surprise this got canned.

Even though they weren't very good, I'm hoping they got a hefty amount of cash for those licensed games. I've honestly wondered for a while how they've been doing; their predecessor Clover didn't even last half this long, I'm pretty sure.

The crunch-time culture in the industry can be nuts, like 80-90 hour work weeks (sometimes even more). I have no knowledge if that was the case here, but it's genuinely not uncommon for people to be worked to the point of health problems at game companies.
