Really? The last 10 minutes dragged and completely brought down the rest of the film for me. It should have been cut entirely.
Are there no Glass Animals fans on this site? How to be a Human Being was a masterpiece and is decidedly my number one of the year, even over such instantly iconic works as TLOP, Coloring Book, and 22, a Million.
Bloc Party is a favorite of mine, with Silent Alarm in particular standing as my third favorite album of all time.
I've been seeing a lot of negative reactions to this on message boards, and I just don't understand. I find this show absolutely engrossing. Sure, it's slow, and much less focused on action than Jessica Jones and especially Daredevil. But it easily has the best ensemble cast of the Netflix shows by virtue of having…
Saw it and I agree with your overall consensus, but I found the last 15-20 minutes (really, more like the last 5 minutes) to be wholly redundant and the worst part by far.
It's actually really good, yeah
I like this album. It sounds pretty good.
Did we read the same review? Obviously this isn't going to be a great movie, but I gathered that it's fun, entertaining, and overall harmless. I'm excited just because it sounds like they've finally committed to the dumb, goofy spirit of the characters- I mean, Krang is in it! That's awesome!
If you like Snowpiercer, check out Train to Busan! Another recent South Korean (zombie) action movie set mostly on a train. Very entertaining
Excellent review. Saw this at Cannes and loved the way it seamlessly blended together supernatural mystery, gritty investigation and surprising slapstick comedy into one long, entertaining package. It also boasts one of the most well-executed endings I've ever seen in a horror film.
I will say, I attended The Neon Demon's premiere, and Nicolas Winding Refn seems like such a cool guy. Like, all criticism aside, seeing him air punch and fist pump and dance around both before and after his film was shown was an absolute delight, and really made me appreciate him as both a person and a filmmaker a…
Seriously, Kanye's a bright guy with smart ideas, he's just a terrible speaker. His best outlet for expressing himself is through his music, which is why people's reception to it is so vastly different from their reception to his personal speeches.
Just know that a few people did love it!
Again I love your write-up, yet disagree heavily with one of the reviews. Today, I saw the Robert De Niro as boxing trainer pic Hands of Stone (B-), which had a great film and a terrible film fighting for control throughout the entirety of its length. I then saw From the Land of the Moon (C-), which was beautiful and…
The Jazz Song you're looking for is…(SPOILERS???)
I will say, as plot-driven as this is on paper, Haenel appears in virtually every frame of the film. It really is a character study first, murder mystery second.
Today, I saw four films: The Unknown Girl, Korean Horror film The Wailing, Studio Ghibli's latest The Red Turtle, and Aquarius. Fantastic day, as I would give them an A, B, A-, and B+, respectively. While I understand not enjoying The Unknown Girl (I was the only of the 9 in my group who liked it), I found the lead…
It was a really fun movie. Foster and Pine are fantastic in it. Definitely doesn't reach the heights of Sicario, though.
Decent. Entertaining. Had nice thematic value but was pretty forgettable as a whole. Good ending though
