Have you driven them? Having the gauges horizontal in your line of sight rather than vertical keeps things closer to your central vision, which means you can be more aware of the road when glancing at your gauges.
I find it rather efficient, but I've driven HMMWVs where the bulb is on the turn signal stalk, and you have to manually cancel the signal. After doing that a few thousand times it didn't bother me when my Corolla's wheel got turned around after a rack change and didn't cancel any more. It's just a light, and just a…
Maybe I'm just better than most at being flexible with things like interfaces, but I had no trouble with my Yaris, and I like the extra storage it provides. Some cars, like older Volkswagens, have a single light to indicate that your blinkers are on. I guess they assume the indicator stalk position should be enough…
Any particular reason?
Have you driven a car with one of these?
aaaand now I have a new anime to watch. Thank you.

Those looks. Those hips. That voice. The impossible ability to make a red dress with gold shoes totally work. And a 2.0L V8, which means she won't be overly dramatic. She wouldn't be a cheap date, but the good ones rarely are.

Modern 18 wheelers are likely better in an accident than a truck with a cow catcher. Mostly because the bumpers aren't as high and are designed to crumple. Trucks aren't all that terrible until you lift it and hang a big, heavy chunk of metal off the front end.
Nice cow catcher.
I completely agree with the cowl position. Even the Haynes roadster got it wrong.
