Probably, again, to prevent gaming the system.

Most times a car gets crushed, that’s the exact scenario. The problem is, if you let one through, the guy with something entirely unsafe (say, some crappy Chinese car that doesn’t meet any safety requirements at all) will say “But you gave that guy an exception.”

Once or twice I’ve left my baby’s seat in the car (without her being in it) and been worried when I come back that someone will have broken the window. I would be upset if someone did, mind you, because window replacements aren’t free - but you can’t take chances with children.

Screw that, I’ll take mine in NATO camo with rubber floor mats, a stick, and a full zombie kit. Oh, and an oil burner.

Take a close look at it next time you see a car with it.

... and why the hell does an electric car need more than a smallish air inlet with which to cool its battery pack? It does not need something that big. Nor do regular cars. Pickups do because they need to cool engines and transmissions while towing heavy loads, but most cars can get by with grilles a third the size of

That is likely done by using local WiFi access points to guess at a location. It works (my laptop does this) but it’s not as accurate as a real GPS fix. In the future, I won’t be surprised if laptops have GPS chips embedded and have GPS antennae routed alongside the WiFi antennae. GPS doesn’t need to upload anything

There doesn’t need to be a formula. No one is entitled to buy anything from a business, at least in the US, unless the refusal of sale is because of a type of discrimination against a protected class (e.g. disability or race or another federal/state/local protected class).

If you have Windows 10, use the game bar (Windows-G to activate). It’s no longer necessary to use a third-party program to record activity.

I’m not sure what I’m looking at here (I don’t play Overwatch).

Not if the client uses the time returned by the GPS/Navstar system rather than the one set on the device if the device setting is not Set Automatically; always use GPS time if phone uses local time; either one (the difference should be negligible) if Set Automatically is on. If the OS doesn’t expose the state of this

Clearly, you didn’t notice that I already addressed that point.

Not necessarily. Have the client ping the server and get a list of coordinates and spawn/despawn times (via https, CRC-checked). (Have it get a new list at startup if the user’s location is far enough from the last update that a new list is needed). Then run the distance calculation locally for each set of coordinates.

It’s up to everybody. I’m sure you’ve heard the one about the few bad apples, too.

Nope. iOS devices used to have it. Now it’s gone.

Footsteps shouldn’t be a server issue. At the short distances involved for this type of calculation, the distance calculation can be approximated easily enough using basic trigonometry and if elevation is taken into account, the math is only slightly more complicated. Curvature of the Earth is only an issue for much

I’ve had this problem lately myself and I thought it was because I’d dinged 10, and I’d heard that captures do get harder as you level up. I’m a WoW player and level 10 is where a lot of the more-advanced features kick in (multispec, dungeons, etc). Hadn’t realized it was part of the patch.

I have to admit I’m not entirely sorry that the game no longer works when in a moving car. It’s a safety problem to make it possible to play when moving, and because so many people will do so when they are the driver and not the passenger, it’s not a good idea to enable temptation.

My car stereo does this. It’s annoying as hell. Next thing I know I’m going to have to hit some damn button just to get out of bed.

Yeah, thank god there’s a “check our twitter feed” and no service on that site... How’s that useful?
