Just bought the 2018 Outback 3.6 R Touring for $4,500 under sticker and they overpaid about $900 on my trade to sweeten the deal. A two inch lift and some all terrains and I am ready to drive the half mile to the grocery store.

I believe in IHRA rulebook even if you don’t break 10's but run 135 mph you need a cage.

If he would have broke 135 mph he would be required to run a full cage instead of a roll bar.

They aren’t switching to full sized SUVs. The CUVs don’t carry the mileage penalty that their big brothers do. That said, I think it’s terribly short-sighted too.

This strikes me as a choice that Ford may find regrettable when gas prices climb back up. But I’d assume that Ford has put much more thought into this decision than I have.
