>“One-trick-pony” (in terms of acceleration)

That’s similar to a story my dad would tell about AJ Foyt at Indy when on the formation laps he ‘couldn’t’ get his car to start for 3 or so laps. Supposedly when they threatened to push his car to the pits and make him start last, he flips a switch and the car starts right up. He saved 3 laps of fuel over the field.

Ok I’m going to go on a bit of a rant here so bear with me. And some of this is based on what I’ve experienced. I’m starting to not get the point of 500-600 + horsepower sedans. Yes that’s great that your amg has 600 horsepower and that your m5 can get from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. That’s great. But. I’m going to have to

The next year, NASCAR set a restriction on fuel line length. Smokey complied with the length requirement. But he also made the diameter about 1" larger than necessary, thus still able to carry extra fuel. There’s many stories of Smokey’s engineering prowess. All are better than these “Cheats”.

They then mandated the fuel hose length so he came back with a 5 inch fuel hose of the correct length.

Or the first Daytona 500 after they mandated a fuel cell size. Nobody could figure out why Smokey Yunic got such good mileage so they took his tank out. (to check for a common “deflating basketballs” trick). He fired it up and drove it to his garage.

Not the infield garage.

The garage he owned in Daytona.

It wasnt

You sure are. Here’s mine.

Having owned a car with the screen like that, I have to say that is functionally better than having it in a shroud. You feel like you have more visibility of the road ahead, and it takes your eyes off the road less when you have to look at it. Aesthetically inferior, but functionally superior.

6. Cut wheel, floor it - Let other drivers know you are serious about winter driving by hooning your vehicle as much as possible. Hoonery is not only fun, it gives you an excellent feel for how your vehicle handles in adverse weather conditions. By being able to better control your vehicle, you make the road safer for

Yeeah! This was at Pow Mow in Utah last winter. They had closed for a few days due to too much snow (omg it was amazing) and this was left in the parking lot. Guy did not actually drive home like that.

That’s a spoiler.

I love my squatty 128i. I was lukewarm about it until I ditched the run flats for wider A/S3s. It performs like a proper BMW now.

I may be a 335is/N54 owner but I fully expect the E9X M3 to be a future classic for the reasons you listed.

Yep. I love and plan to forever keep my 2010 E90 328i manual without a sunroof. My other dream car is a 987.2 Cayman that, you guessed it, is naturally aspirated with hydraulic steering.

I’m keeping my ‘09 328i Sedan with the sport package for as long as it will possibly exist. If I have to hoard N52's in my back woods, so help me god...

I have an ‘08 E91. It is truly the first car that generates a smile every time I look at it.

Mmmmmm. “The last naturally aspirated [model]” seems like a running theme with “stuff people actually want.” Same goes with “without electric steering.”
