Not exactly the same, but I toyed with the idea of replacing our F31 with a Macan GTS. I went for a test drive recently expecting to hate it, because crossover. I grew up driving hatchbacks and wagons (mostly manuals!), and I figured I would hate the Macan. I really, really, really wanted to hate it.

Predictions based on consumer habits of spenditure and human behavior are definitely “stupid”. I can’t imagine any credible industry relying on them to some degree.

But they do. The G65 isn’t just a tarted up G63, at least to those who buy them. These are purely status symbols, much more so than even the G63, and they tend to change hands from one wealthy individual to another, the V12 alone garnering most of the perceived value and driving demand.
