Yeah, switching Light to a white guy just seems really out of character...
I’m definitely checking it out, but I feel like Death Note loses a lot when compressed down into a 100 minute movie. In the anime Light was always kind of a creep but his descent into narcissism and megalomania took longer.
Were I a dullard I would pen a Jabberwock-style tome about the dreaded “Wypipo”... but get this - it would be a thinly veiled satire on the many atrocities carried out by my race over the centuries! Hopefully I would make lots of money off it
