It's very old school, turn-based, first-person like the dungeon crawling. You choose an attack for each of your four characters (lots of customization there) and the turn plays out. Rinse, repeat. I like it a lot. Exploring the dungeons and drawing the maps is fun too, although it occasionally gets a bit tedious.
Might be worth it for Pokemon, Etrian Odyssey IV, Monster Hunter, and Zelda: LttP2 to be honest. I'm sure there are others I'm missing. But those (besides Zelda) allow for pa-lenty of grinding.
Sorry if it came out wrong. It just means that unless I'm willing to put in some serious time and effort in breeding, I'm going to get destroyed. I wish there was an online division of sorts for non-bred pokemon.
Probably for the best.
