Call me paranoid, but having lived and traveled through various countries I’m going to advance the craaaaaaazy conspiracy theory that public transportation in most of the United Stes is designed to torment and humiliate the poor rather than to actually be useful and reliable.

Have you ever been poor? Heard of food deserts? Worked two jobs to keep up? Made about ten thousand decisions a day (do I spend money on food? Medicine? Rent? Bills? What do I skimp on? What about my shoes that are about to die?) Try it for a while and then tell poor people how they’re “lazy.”

Wow. If nothing else, Project Greenlight is proving to be a fascinating and necessary look into just how poorly people of color are treated in the industry.

As galling as it is, I think this season is doing a lot of good, simply by pointing out so vividly the many blind spots people have around these issues. It educates and awakens everyone a bit more as we watch it.

When you see another post about the racism in Greek life at University of Alabama, please know that THIS is an outcome of that seemingly silly, unimportant system. Not to be morbid, but will the fantasy league be suspended in light of this situation?

Nothing drives me crazier than inappropriate accent marks in the names of Americans. They already threw pronunciation rules out the window when they went with the spelling “Khloe,” but the accent aigu drives me insane.

I’m sure his kids are so proud of him.

reading is hard

But Evan’s literal job is writing. Sure, everyone can make games, but that doesn’t mean that everyone HAS to. Does every film critic have to write and direct their own movies before they’re taken seriously? Does every music critic? No, because it’s understood that critique is in itself a different facet of those

You understand that Evan is a writer, right? Meaning that he writes things? Why does HE have to develop a game to point out industry-wide flaws in how games handle black people?

A few things:

The self-oblivious self-centrism is palpable. Unfortunately, this comment isn’t likely to help you see it for what it is.

He didn’t say that because he thinks it’s a stupid excuse. Read the article maybe, particularly the part above the Louis CK video.

Right, because it’s just that easy.

Your serious advice is trite and weightless. This comment was 100% expected, meaning it was written with this “thought” already understood.
