Honestly, I didn’t think the “friends and exes aren’t supposed to do that shit” part needed explanation. Is there anyone in the world who would date their friend’s ex, and not expect to catch hell for it from their friend? If I get fired from a job, by an asshole boss, and my BFF applies for the job, I’m gonna be pissed. If a random stranger punches me in the face, and a friend befriends the stranger, I’m gonna be pissed. Do I think I own my old employer? Do I think I own a random stranger?

I’m not a fighter - if I was mad, how I’d handle it depends on the friend, but the options would be talk about it or stop talking to them.

The friend aspect is a curveball, though. I’ve never gotten mad at an ex for dating someone else, and never gotten mad at the guy an ex is dating after we broke up.
