Then you’ve never had a job. You sure as hell haven’t ever worked in a theater and likely have never read a newspaper.
I hear ya! But I hope you aren’t holding out any hope that the majority of Americans care if we have what we need to enjoy a public piece of entertainment.
I worked for an indie that just closed because of a highrise going in. We managed to get the money for digital upgrade but couldn’t swing the installation for the headsets. Place I’m at now is getting it next year. Boss says its around $20000 and we will only have a couple of headsets per screen. I wish we could just…
I agree, I wish customers didn’t freak out over this. I have asked people if we can run the subtitles when it’s a slow night. You would be surprised at how many say no. And when they leave, they don’t come back. Theaters would love a large group of 18 people to come out. We are all going out of business. So I really…
You’re assuming no one using them in the other screens. The problem here is that we can’t run subtitle screening without the non-deaf freaking out. This means that indie theaters have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to attempt to appease an ever-shrinking and pickier audience. It’s a no-win for the theater. I’m…
I work in a theater and I can tell you that this theater very likely cannot afford that much equipment. My theater will be getting headsets next year and its a huge investment. We will only have a handful. Also, people who can’t read subtitles freak out and storm out of a screening if we try to run the subtitled…
As someone who has worked at an indie theater, I can help you understand. Only the largest corporate theaters have the necessary equipment to accommodate such a large group. Well, I imagine they might in LA, NYC or Chicago. But smaller chains and independents don’t. My theater never had the equipment because it was…
Finally, gentrification we can all get behind: de-rednecking the boonies! ;)
I don’t capitalize his name either, but that’s because I refuse to show even that minor amount of respect. Tami is just an ass, as indicated by the spelling of her name.
E coli is on every surface you touch. Wash your junk today? Well, whether you dried your junk with a freshly laundered towel or let it air dry, it was covered in E coli before you even got dressed. Walking directly to the bedroom for sex on a super clean bed, you say? E coli, E coli, E coli.
And then it’ll be President Ryan! Yay!! *weeps*
I don’t understand the motivation here at all. The only benefit I can see to anyone would be to the private prison industry.
Separating those kids would cause mayhem and extreme distress while removing any caretaker that could potentially calm situations. Kids would be guaranteed to freak out, thereby giving the state…
Yes, especially when it comes from the factory farming industry. Keep in mind that small growers that need organic certifications can’t use it because it will contaminate their fields. Also, straight-up manure is going to carry so many damn germs. Spreading that on crops of veg that aren’t going to be cooked, such as…
Yeah...what?
You appear to be upset that the factory farming industry is to blame and attempting and failing to convince me that doctors are to blame. I work in the medical industry and you are going to have a hard time convincing me, since I see how prescriptions are monitored. Sorry, buddy.
Were you intending to respond to someone else? What does that have to do with my comments? Please be clear.
A very small problem. Most doctors don’t over-prescribe. And in countries where people can get antibiotics otc, many cannot afford them. The bulk of exposure happens with our food sources, and it affects vegetarians when manure is used as fertilizer (which also happens far more than it should because it’s a cheap…
I’m a vegan, and I agree with you, but until the factory farming process is gone, this will continue to worsen. Regrettably, I don’t see many more people voluntarily giving up meat. And the contamination from factory meat farming affects us all throughout the food chain. :(
The meat industry problem is way worse, sorry. Because it’s creating antibiotic resistance every where in the world, even places where people never go to a doctor and never get access to antibiotics. Factory farming, in the US and elsewhere, is to blame.
