Decent resource, but I'm currently using The Odin Project. As a novice web developer they start from the very beginning and provide great resources in a step by step process. It's far less daunting than a large collection of resources like this one.

Better solution: brace your elbows against your torso (elbows drawn in and in contact with the bottom of your ribcage) instead of holding them out like wings. You'll get all the stability (better, actually) and no need for extra equipment or the time to set it up or put it away.

A wake up light is a light that gradually lights up to full power. An outlet timer would turn the light from full off to full on ... it's just a light not a "wake-up" light.

I've taken to listening to audiobooks while I do simple tasks like cooking, laundry, getting ready in the morning, etc. I've essentially tried to make sure that any time I'm indulging in entertainment, I'm getting a chore done.
