I've always been a fan of the old jelly jar for screws, nails and whatnot. Screw the lid to the bottom of a shelf (I like to use 3 screws), put your loose hardware in and put it in place. You can see the contents and easily label it if you like.

And actually, we'll be doing these again in a few weeks! We do it once a year.
I dislike the Ask an Expert, just because of the commenting system....if you could figure out another system for it I think it'd be great.

Dice Player is the only video player I have seen that provides variable-speed playback, which makes it my favorite. It speeds up playback without affecting the sound pitch and without any jitter or hesitation, at least at the 1.3x or 1.4x setting I usually use. I get through videocasts in 2.3 the time.
