Sounds more like you’ve just grown out of the series more than anything. RE7 WAS the God of War style reboot. If that didn’t get your interest, then nothing else will.

Resident Evil is the horror camp classic. This isn’t Silent Hill afterall, so I don’t think we need a deeper Ashley Graham. The remake did a good job of updating Ashley without completely losing the campy balance of the original.

I can accept the premise that Ashley in the 2005 original was little more than a gameplay feature, and her characterization is not deeper than that. It was a fault, but a fault of its time.
