Yup, you can sell cars when you have an engineering degree. But you can’t build cars with an economics degree.

I think the OP should stick with engineering instead of economics, regardless of whatever else he plans to do though. Engineering’s in high demand and is probably going to continue on that path, while tons of people are flocking to economics/finance right now.
