Firstly, no it’s not polite to be peaking under people’s car covers without their permission. This is for the same reason it’s rude to go peaking through your neighbor’s closed blinds.

I would think honda would be more concerned with the fact that they’ve greatly increased the number of failure points in what is essentially a safety system by tying it into the car’s electronics.
